It can be hard to keep the kids entertained during the Christmas holidays. Whether it’s before the big day or after, you can guarantee that your children will tell you that they’re bored at one stage or another. Fear not, there are many different games you can make up to keep your kids busy. You can either try these games out on a game night or you can spread them out for multiple days of fun. Whatever you decide, here are some easy and fun games for your children this holiday season.
For this game, all you will need are tights and coloured balloons. After you’ve split the groups into even teams, hand a pair of tights and a packet of balloons to each. Countdown from three and on go, each team needs to start blowing up their balloons. When they’re blown up and tied, stuff the balloons into the legs of the tights. The goal is to create antlers that stand up on your head. However, it’s not as easy as it looks!

2. Jingle Bell Toss
This is a take on the classic “Beer Pong” game, but it’s completely child-friendly. What you need are cups, small bells and of course, a table. Simply assemble the cups into a triangle at each end of the table before warming up your best arm for throwing. The aim of the game is to get bells into as many of your opponent’s cups. This is another game you can split into teams, with each member taking their turn to try pot the bells. Just two people can also play it together, however.
Here’s a list from PlaygroundParkBench.com of a few different ways to play it, depending on the age (and competitive streak) of your kids.
3. Christmas Charades
A Christmas take on the classic charades game – What’s not to love? All you need to do for this one is write out the names of different movies, songs, books and whatever else you can think of. Cut each name out and crumble the pieces of paper up. Just make sure that they’re all festive and have something to do with Christmas. When this is done, let the games begin. You can split the group into teams or you can also do it solo. Simply pick up a piece of paper and act out what it says on it.
4. Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?
This song is so catchy that it definitely got stuck in your head at least once around the holidays. In fact, if your kids are Frozen-mad, it’s probably always stuck in your head. This is a great game to play alongside the song. All you need to do is get a bag of medium-sized marshmallows. The aim of the game is to stack three marshmallows on top of each other. Sound easy? Think again. You can’t use your hands and you can only use your mouth. The first one to stack their marshmallows without them falling down wins.
Here’s a video of it from ShawnMHowell.
