5 Festive Coffees to Try This Christmas

February 25, 2022

It’s important to make time to see your loved ones around the holidays. Whether its an intimate dinner or a trip to the pub, hanging out with friends and family is essential. However, Christmas gatherings don’t always have to revolve around an alcoholic beverage. This year, why not invite your pals round for some Christmassy coffees?

Here are some creative coffees to try this Christmas.

  1. Gingerbread Latte

This latte is a take on a Starbucks classic. What you’ll need is whole milk, ginger, cinnamon, sugar, espresso, whipped cream and nutmeg. Add the ginger, cinnamon and sugar to the milk in a pot on a stove. Heat on medium-high until almost boiling. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the spices to be infused. Use 2 shots of espresso and froth the milk mixture before adding the two together. Top it off with whipped cream and ground nutmeg.

2. Cloves & Cinnamon Coffee

This beverage is perfect for the holidays. All you’ll need is a regular cup of coffee, spices and brown sugar. This recipe uses cloves and cinnamon for the flavouring. Simply brew your coffee with the additional ingredients and voila! This festive cuppa will warm you from the inside out and you’ll more than likely have all the ingredients lying around your house.

3. Peppermint Mocha

What an excellent combination! For this coffee, you’ll need milk, sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, espresso or strong coffee, mint extract or syrup or a candy cane, vanilla extract, whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Firstly, add milk, cocoa and sugar into a saucepan and heat over medium. Leave it on until bubbles start to form at the edge and the sugar has dissolved. Next, stir in expresso, mint and vanilla before removing it from the heat. Lastly, serve in a big mug with cream and chocolate on top.

4. Spiced Apple Latte

This coffee is perfect for autumn all the way to December 25th. What you will need is strongly brewed coffee, warmed apple juice, frothy whole milk, honey, pumpkin spice, nutmeg, Star Anise spice and whipped cream. After you’ve brewed your coffee and warmed your apple juice, start by adding honey and pumpkin spice to the juice. Add your coffee, juice and frothed milk in a mug before topping with cream, Star Anise and nutmeg.

Dreaming of white Christmas? This may be the next best thing. This recipe uses whole milk, brewed espresso or strong coffee, granulated sugar, white chocolate, whipped cream and white chocolate shavings for the top. Firstly, combine the milk, coffee, sugar and white chocolate before cooking and stirring over low-medium heat. Stir often until it is heated through.
