Alternative Ways to Wrap Your Christmas Presents

December 24, 2023

Wrapping Christmas presents is a mandatory part of the holidays. Some people love it and some people hate it. However, it doesn’t have to be the monotonous process if you don’t want it to be. There are many ways to creatively wrap presents that don’t require you to be an expert in crafts. Here are some alternatives ways to wrap your Christmas present.

1.The Snowman

If you have bought a number of box-shaped presents of varying sizes, creating a snowman is an easy thing to do. Simply wrap the boxes in white paper and stack them from smallest to biggest. After this, cut eyes, a nose and a mouth out of coloured paper. You can get as creative as you want with this one. You can add a hat, buttons, a scarf or arms. The choice is yours.

2. The Eco-Friendly Way

A little known fact about wrapping paper is that it is awful for the planet. The shiny finish on it and the sheer volume used every year accounts for a lot of waste. There are many eco-friendly alternatives that still look wonderful. Brown kraft paper can be bought in most arts and crafts shops, as well as book shops and even some general shops. Using this paper with some string, leaves, pinecones, candy canes and whatever else you can get your hands on will result in some stunning presents. 3. The Surprise

While every present may be a surprise when the paper comes off, this one will certainly shock the receiver of the gift. What you need to do is buy a few different bits for the present. They can be of any shape or size. Assemble them in whatever way you want, but the catch is they must resemble something that they are not. For example, a toilet, a puppy or a bike. Something random is perfect, once it does not look like what the gift actually is. Not only will the receiver be incredibly confused when they see a wrapped toilet, but they will be even more surprised when they open it.

4. The Cracker

Sometimes it’s hard to wrap the smaller presents creatively. Often, they just go along with a bigger gift. However, it’s important not to forget about these smaller gifts and to decorate them in a cool and interesting way. All you need to do with this one is to cut up a piece of paper large enough to wrap around the gift. Secure it at the middle and move the present to this taping. Then, very carefully, scrunch the paper at each end of the gift. Tape these ends and fluff out the rest of the paper with nothing in it. In the end, it’ll look like a beautiful Christmas cracker.

5. The Bag

Gift bags are a great option for those who don’t like wrapping, but they seem effortless at times. To avoid this, get creative with your bags. Buy brown paper bags, similar to lunch bags. Pop the present in with some craft paper to bulk the present up. After this, go wild with the design of the bag. You can create a reindeer with eyes and a red nose and some antlers, or you can add stars or Christmas trees. The possibilities are endless and super creative.
