Christmas wreaths are a stunning feature of decorations. They can be hung on front doors, used as centrepieces, hung around the house or wherever you please. Traditional wreaths are gorgeous in their own right, but there are many ways to get creative with it too. Here are some creative alternatives to Christmas wreaths.
Easy to make and a beautiful end result, these wreaths are super original. What you need to do is to get a good-sized ring, depending on how big you want it. Gather some brown twine and wrap it around the hoop, varying the patterns and the way you wrap each it time. You can get as creative as you want with the patterns, depending on how skilled you fancy yourself to be. After this, glue the string down. Gather some real or artificial leaves and use a hot glue gun to secure them to the circumference of the ring. Get some sheets of card and write whatever festive word you want. Cut it out and then glue it to the centre. Alternatively, you can hang your word from the top of the hoop with a different coloured string.
2. Baubles
If you’re redesigning your Christmas decorations and find yourself with a lot of extra baubles, put them to good use instead of throwing them out. First, you need to cut a ring out of cardboard. Then, glue your baubles down to this ring, ensuring that, by the end, the cardboard is completely covered. You can use whatever size, shape and colour of baubles you want. The end result will be stunning regardless. Make sure to glue down some string on top to hang it.
3. Photos
Personalising your decorations is a nice touch to make the holidays that bit more special. Instead of purchasing a regular wreath this year, why not make one with your old photos? Using either a cardboard ring or a solid hoop, map out how many photos you need and to what size. Cut out the photos in a circular shape depending on how large you need them to be. Get some red card and stick the photos down on it. When it dries, the cut the photos out, leaving a strip of red around it. After this, all you need to do is stick the photos down and voila! You’ve made your picture wreath. You can add in some leaves, branches, bows or whatever else you would like to decorate.
4. Hands
If you have kids and want to keep them busy for a few hours, this wreath is a great option. You’ll need to buy sheets of green card, in a variety of different shades. Have each child trace around their hand a number of times on these sheets before cutting them out. Assemble the hands in the shape of a wreath. Depending on how many hands you have, you might need to use something to support them from the back. Stick the hands together in a circular shape and add some red dots to represent berries.
