Join Toddles and Waddles, two lovable penguins, on a heartwarming adventure that teaches love and understanding. This touching story about dementia is perfect for children of all ages, and a wonderful resource for parents and educators.
When Toddles notices that Waddles sometimes forgets things or acts differently, they do everything they can, to try and keep their precious memories alive. Through adorable penguin characters, this story sensitively explores the symptoms of dementia and the emotions it can stir in those affected and their loved ones. It reassures
children that feeling scared, confused, or worried is okay, while encouraging open conversations about these complex feelings.

Hi, I’m an independent Usborne partner from Kildare. I have an extensive range of children’s books and activity sets for children from 0-16 years. Why should you choose an Usborne book for your child? “At Usborne, we believe in the power of children’s books. Books open doors to new worlds, allow children to walk in someone else’s footsteps, help them learn new skills, and encourage them to explore new ideas. For this to be effective, all children – including children of every ethnicity, age and gender – must be able to see themselves in our books, as well as seeing people who are different from them, in many ways.”
My bookshop is called Puddleduck Books and I am based in Co. Kildare. I provide an extensive range of children’s books, suitable from birth to sixteen years. As an Usborne independent partner, I can host free book fairs for schools and crèches. I can also organise sponsored reading events to raise funds for school libraries and Usborne will provide free books for the school up to the value of 60% of the total amount raised at any book fair or sponsored reading event. My USP is that I can choose books and create book bundles for any special occasion in your child’s life, based on their age and interests. I am also dedicated to making sure ALL children see themselves represented in the world of literature and so I am happy to work on behalf of a company that believes that:“all children – including children of every ethnicity, age and gender – must be able to see themselves in our books, as well as seeing people who are different from them, in many ways.” (Usborne, ‘What we’re doing to help promote diversity’)
